The program highlights included a video summary of chapter accomplishments , celebratory messages from community partners , door prizes , and a tribute honoring chapter charter members . Nu Xi Omega continuously grows in membership and commitment to sustainable service to all mankind .
Rho Gamma Omega Focuses on Refugee Awareness
South Orange , NJ – Rho Gamma Omega Chapter Target 5 Committee centered its activities on refugee populations by hosting a shirt-making event for young boys of Haiti . In addition , Target 5 collaborated with Target 2 to promote global health awareness with a " Mask Up " social media campaign , supporting CDC social distancing , masking , and vaccination guidelines . On Global Impact Day , the committee hosted a film screening of the documentary " Refugee ," highlighting a West African mother ' s struggles to make a better life for her five children in the United States . On World Refugee Day , the committee highlighted COVID 19 ' s impact on refugee populations and provided a $ 300 contribution to the United Nations Refugee Agency . Lastly , the Global Impact Committee hosted a virtual happy hour / shoe collection with the Sisterly Relations Committee and donated nearly 80 pairs of shoes .

Eta Omega Omega participates in Global Impact Day by donating supplies to pre-kindergarten students and providing young girls with menstrual items .
Bronx , NY – Under the leadership of Soror Claudia Schrader and Soror Shayna Bailey , the Global Impact Committee of Eta Omega Omega Chapter held two initiatives . The first initiative focused on education in Senegal at the Senegalese American Bilingual School ( SABS ). Sorors dropped off prekindergarten supplies such as pencils , crayons , and notebooks to an accessible location where items were itemized and tallied . Menstrual Equity was the second initiative that the chapter focused on . Together with Knickers for New Life in Uganda , sorors donated $ 35 to sponsor a young girl for one year . Through the sponsorship , the girls received menstrual items , undergarments , and mosquito repellents . Eta Omega Omega is committed to " service to all mankind " through a dual-focused approach : digital and traditional service opportunities to ensure sorors comfortably participate and serve on Global Impact Day .
Tau Nu Omega Brings Clarity to Bronx Voters
Bronx , NY – Tau Nu Omega Chapter hosted " Ranked Choice Voting : What Do You Need to Know ?", an online forum providing voting education and resources to the South Bronx community . Led by the Connections Chairwoman , Soror Tanya Hornsby , the forum featured New York State Senator Luis Sepúlveda , who spoke about the importance of voting and having our voices heard . In addition , rank the Vote NYC representative Nicole Yearwood provided the attendees with a tutorial and a real-time demonstration on how to rank choice voting works . New York City ' s recent shift to rank choice voting during the primary season left many Bronx voters confused about the process and its impact . The forum was attended by many and clarified what rank choice voting is and how it influences the outcome of elections . In addition to simplifying rank choice voting , attendees were educated about the importance of voting , the dos , and don ' ts of completing ballots after the forum attendees were more confident about the rank choice voting process .
Epsilon Pi Omega Holds Virtual HBCU College Fair
St . Albans , NY – Epsilon Pi Omega held its 4th Annual HBCU Fair virtually , with a set-up like an in-person fair . The HBCU for Life Committee , in conjunction with the # CAP SM Committee , hosted over 100 attendees consisting of students , parents , and educators , providing information about the college admission process , history of HBCUs , and presentations from representatives of 17 different HBCUs . HBCUs include Claflin University , Clark Atlanta University , Delaware State University , Hampton University , Johnson C . Smith University , Lincoln University , Morehouse College , Morgan State University , Prairie View University , Savannah State University , Shaw University , Spelman College , Tennessee State University , Tuskegee University , Virginia Union University , Wilberforce University and Xavier University of Louisiana . The representatives adorned in their HBCU attire and displaying their festive HBCU virtual backgrounds brought the HBCU experience throughout their presentations . After the demonstrations , the college representatives were moved to separate breakout rooms where attendees could move around to the different rooms to speak with representatives one-on-one . The event was a success , and attendees received a wealth of knowledge about HBCUs .
Pi Iota Omega Holds Virtual Book Discussion
White Plains , NY – Pi Iota Omega Chapter , Sisterly Relations , and Black Dollar 365 Committee hosted a virtual book discussion . " I Am These Truths " was written by Sunny Hostin Esq ., Co-host of the View , ABC News legal correspondent , and a sorority member . Kew and Willow bookstore , a female and " minority " owned establishment , shared their mission of serving the community and was the vendor of the book for purchase . The objective of this event was to promote , support , and redirect the community ' s spending into Black-owned businesses , share the importance of buying Black , and witness the buying power of the Black community by supporting a " minority " owned business .
