HBCU IMPACT DAY
FAR WESTERN REGION
The Fascinating Far Western Region seized the opportunity to support our HBCU Impact Day with a social media campaign that encouraged a bit of sisterly competition . Sorors were encouraged to compete and prove which Cluster was poised to lead in fundraising . The Far Western Regional Director , a Howard University Alumna , and Cluster Coordinators created videos encouraging sorors , family , and friends to donate to these treasured institutions . The Region surpassed the $ 91,000 raised in 2020 by reaching a new milestone of raising over $ 120,000 in one day . This one-
day total was due to the collective effort of our fascinating sorors that culminated in the sorority raising over $ 2 million in just one day .
INTERNATIONAL REGION
Small but mighty , sorors of the International Region from Asia , Europe , Dubai , Africa , North America , and the Caribbean joined hands and heart together and contributed over forty thousand dollars to the HBCU4Life initiative of excellence administration . Chapters were committed to supporting our own because Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Incorporated ® was founded on the campus of an HBCU . Sorors pooled their financial resources and creatively engaged in personal donations , weeklong activities , and small fundraisers that generated our donation of more than forty thousand dollars over four years . Each year our regional director , Soror Joy Elaine
Daley adds to our contribution . The only HBCU in the region , University of the Virgin Islands has been the proud recipient of a $ 50,000 Endowment Scholarship from the HBCU4Life initiative . We are elated to be a part of this accomplishment and pledge to continue support our own for academic betterment .
