CENTRAL REGION
The sorors of the Confident , Charismatic and Charmed Central Region were excited to participate in the 2021 HBCU Impact Day and Week . The region rallied together to help exceed the sorority ’ s goal of raising $ 1M on September 20th . Collectively , Central Region donated nearly $ 172,000 to support the goal of funding endowed scholarships
at each four-year HBCU . Chapter ’ s raised funds and awareness by hosting a virtual HBCU art reveal , HBCU trivia nights , movie screenings , virtual homecoming parties , social media drives spotlighting HBCU graduates and adopting a nearby HBCU . In addition Central Region would like to
thank Soror Tresa Dunbar Garrett , Central Region Representative to the International Program Committee and Soror Katasha Butler , Central Region Representative to the International HBCU Task Force for always being willing to answer questions and provide ideas on how we can support and increase awareness about HBCUs .
MID-WESTERN REGION
The sorors of the Magnificent Mid-Western Region have worked tirelessly to support the HBCU initiatives set forth by our Supreme Basileus , Soror Glenda Glover , with a targeted focus on our two Mid-Western HBCUs , Langston University in Langston , Oklahoma and Lincoln University in
Jefferson City , Missouri . While COVID-19 necessitated a change in our ability to reach out and host in-person activities , sorors continued to be creative which allowed us to increase our giving each year . Beginning in 2018 with contributions totaling
$ 22,727.00 , the region proudly doubled its contribution and raised $ 45,616.00 for the 2021 $ 1 Million in One Day Campaign ! As part of our S . O . N . G . ( Strengthening Our Need to Grow ) Leadership Series , the region sponsored two workshops and a panel discussions on the strength and importance of our Mid-Western HBCUs . In addition , the Mid-Western Sorors have consistently supported the local Alpha Phi Alpha chapter ’ s HBCU Student College Tours by providing bottled water , snacks , backpacks and monetary contributions . We also have continued support virtually through the participation of our # CAP SM students . The Mid-Western Region is HBCU-Proud and HBCU-Strong !
