HBCU IMPACT DAY

SOUTH EASTERN REGION

The South Eastern Region , under the leadership of Mitzi Dease Paige , Regional Director , announces a record breaking total contribution amount of $ 371,555.44 for HBCU Impact Day 2021 . These donations were received from chapters as well as 1,400 individual sorors and they will support students and the sustainability of our HBCUs . The South Eastern Region boasts having the largest number of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country , so supporting our HBCUs is important . On September 20 , 2021 , the South Eastern Region held a HBCU Impact Day Party and featured our four Soror College Presidents in the region , including our own Supreme Basileus Glenda Glover ,

President of Tennessee State University . In addition , each of the four AKA College Presidents were awarded an additional $ 3,000 for their HBCUs . Our total
contribution of $ 371,555.44 for 2021 constitutes a 270 % increase over what the region raised in 2020 .

SOUTH CENTRAL REGION

The South Central Region had several reasons to support our beloved HBCUs with contributions from over 100 chapters in Texas , Louisiana , Arkansas and New Mexico . In the words of our South

Central Regional Director Joya T . Hayes , “ we did it for the institutions and to show our commitment to our community .” South Central kicked off HBCU week with a tailgate party on Saturday hosted by the Faye B . Bryant Leadership Institute . Then on the $ 1Million Day , chapters showed their HBCU pride by launching social media campaigns and making significant donations to their beloved institutions . South Central was proud to donate over $ 10,000 to make sure that our communities will always have access to educational opportunities .
