Creates a Table for Women Leaders in Higher Education
Soror Glenda Glover brought together sorors that are leading the charge in higher education . The AKA College Presidents ' Summit , held at the Ivy Center in Chicago in July , was a first-of-its-kind meeting to discuss paving a path for sustainability , scholarship , and growth opportunities at HBCUs and Predominately Black Institutions ( PBIs ).
President Glover ’ s innovative summit provided the opportunity for dialogue around financial conditions accreditation , faculty and more . Additionally , the presidents tackled obstacles brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic .
The presidents also discussed the common challenges these institutions face when it comes to funding . HBCUs and PBIs are required to stretch resources to make ends meet while overseeing governance , faculty , and government relations among many things in their important leadership roles .
