Dear members
It is my sincere hope that this finds you all well; I know, of course, these remain difficult times and I know there have been many members and volunteers that have been unwell over recent weeks, so hopefully those that have been affected are now recovering. I can speak on behalf of the entire Service Management community when I say that we wish them well and a speedy recovery.
Your ’Member Value’ team has been working hard in the background under the stewardship of Peter Tonkin, so please watch out for new member benefits being released soon. Peter, of course, is well known to many of you (most of you!) given his dedication to our organisation and to the profession of Service Management. I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks for his sterling work.
The Adelaide Convention Centre and the Conference dates have now been locked in for 2023 (Insert loud shouts of “HOORAY!!” here!)
Speaker submissions will open in the next few weeks and sponsorship opportunities are available; please contact us for details. Interestingly, sponsorship interest following—and even during—this year’s Conference was incredible; the level of enthusiasm and engagement was beyond anything we could have ever hoped for.
Naturally we can’t run the Conference, or the Forum itself, without sponsorship so I was very pleased to see that we were able to deliver on this at Brisbane, and the upshot is this very encouraging level of interest in the Adelaide Conference.
Did I mention that the 2023 Conference is in Adelaide—you’re going to be hearing that a lot!
It is also my pleasure to welcome Katrina Macdermid as a co-opted board member. Katrina has been a supporter of itSMF for several years and a familiar face at our National Conference and state events—indeed she is the presenter of the July Event. Katrina is an ITIL Master (1 of only 3 is Australia) and has been co-opted to assist the Board with a number of initiatives, and also help raise our profile across Australia and also fly the flag globally. I am delighted she has come on board, and I look forward to working with her as we strive to forge a new future for ITSMF Australia.
So, please enjoy the magazine, and do your best to stay safe!
