INVESTMENTS IN NEW TECHNOLOGIES “ Since then ”, says the sales manager of Beccaria , Davide Pagliero , “ there has also been a step of modernisation , or rather evolution , of our production operations : we have purchased a laser cutting machine , an important investment aimed at doing everything in-house from start to finish , according to our corporate strategy , without entrusting to external suppliers the production of semi-finished products to be assembled . All this in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of Beccaria , which unfortunately fell between 2020 and 2021 , one of the worst moments for celebrations because of the pandemic . Anyway , we managed to publish a monograph that traces the company ’ s history . This also gave us the opportunity to start a rebranding plan : we are therefore abandoning the old logo , colours and full name of the company , passing from the old BD Beccaria Industrie Meccaniche Specializzate logo to a new identity represented by a simple ‘ B ’ as a distinctive logo , and the slogan ‘ Limitless Innovation ’, which in the Italian language ‘ Innovazione Senza Fine ’ also contains a reference to the worm screw , a key component of many machines in our sector . We are pursuing all this in cooperation with a graphics company . We have also renewed our website , advertising campaigns , signs and signage for trade fairs in general , so that at the K 2022 we will set up a very different stand compared to the past , exhibiting not only single machines , but also simulating an entire production system , in order to convey to the market the image of Beccaria not only as a mechanical company , but also as an industrial enterprise that starts from the engineering and design phases with the aim of developing and manufacturing new machines , emphasising our transition from a workshop to a full-fledged modern industry .”
PLASTICS AS PROTAGONISTS Obviously , this on-going evolution also involves the range of products dedicated to the plastic industry which is now the most important for the company , accounting for 40 % of turnover . Pagliero continued : “ Today we are working hard on the customisation of standard machines in order to obtain tailor-made products , and we are gradually abandoning the market of mass products . This evolution is mostly affecting standard machines , such as augers , especially for the recycling sector , which are therefore incorporated into washing and transport systems for complex materials with low specific weights . We have been specialising in recycling systems by developing simple machines such as augers but also more articulated ones such as storage silos for lightweight products , for example plastic film , and also modifying the process of vertical mixers . In our ‘ standard range ’ - although in reality it is no longer definable like this - we have included large machines certified for outdoor installation , an advantage that few companies

are able to offer . We are talking about mixers up to 100 cubic meters : in the last two months we have shipped six of them with a capacity between 60 and 70 cubic meters , also abroad , for pellets and especially flakes , intended for the recycling sector . The market , in fact , increasingly requires machines capable of storing a single batch or even more than a single batch outdoor that can be then loaded comfortably in larger spaces , such as our well-known 35-40 cubic meter machines that can |

load two tankers . We are delivering several units to Spain and the United Kingdom , as well as to Italy .”
THE ROLE OF RECYCLING The range of Beccaria machines is increasingly oriented to the recycling sector : “ We have been involved in this market thanks to our sales agents and in some cases also through customer companies that have purchased our machines in order to complete
