USE OF WASTE The company from Mellaredo di Pianiga came in contact with a customer that recovered copper from electrical cables , but in turn generated a considerable amount of PVC waste from the cable sheaths : a material that was impossible to bring back to the original compound due to the content of additives and flame retardants . This gave a chance for new business , since the high value of the recovered copper allowed the customer to invest in the recycling of the otherwise unusable thermoplastic waste .
