ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT
From above , the importance of vibration monitoring

Poor gearbox maintenance can cause early wear and failures in the kinematics .“ „ In fact “, adds Alessandro Zambello , the managing director , „ some users have installed control systems on our gearboxes with little success , having no knowledge of the gearbox and its applications . Only the designer and manufacturer of the gearbox do know what to monitor in the kinematics and are able to place the sensors at strategic points . The advice provided by Zambello takes into account all variables : for the same gearbox model , the application becomes a decisive factor . In fact , an extruder for foamed material does not undergo the same stress as an extruder destined for critical applications in recycling . After installing the ZMS system on about forty Zambello gearboxes in these first three years , we believe it is important to inform our customers about the excellent results achieved .“ The customers ’ feedback is excellent , Valentini underscores : „ The system is working well , has no hardware or software problems and the control functions are very effective . The ZMS system is not a vibration analysis tool but a monitoring one , whose task is that of identifying anomalies in the gearbox . From a technical point of view , in the development of this system we based ourselves on the international standard ( ISO DIN 10816 ) which defines the general parameters for vibration analysis aimed to application , installed power , speed , size of the gearbox and the characteristics of the support surface . Once these parameters have been set , if the gearbox is properly maintained , vibration will stay low for several years but as soon as the gears or the bearing raceway begins to wear ,
