Magnum Properties make a flying start to life as commercial estate agents
Talk about hitting the ground running . Magnum Properties started its estate agency for commercial premises earlier this year and has achieved remarkable results so far .
Commercial director Aaron Fisher and residential manager Nadia Hussein say clients have been particularly impressed by the Teesside firm ’ s number one priority , customer relations . And that ’ s resulted in an impressive number of successful property deals and satisfied clients .
“ Interest in our services has been nonstop ,” reveals Aaron .
“ The interest from both residential and commercial landlords as well as renters and buyers has been exceptional .
“ The response to our opening has been phenomenal with residential and commercial clients alike looking to take advantage of the customer service we provide .
“ The feedback we ’ re getting reveals clients are glad to have an estate agent that responds in the way that we do .
“ In the last three months we have completed deals in just 48 hours , and in a matter of weeks we ’ ve been able to find occupants for buildings that have been empty for years .”
Magnum wants to help Middlesbrough thrive and , as a consequence , achieve city status .
The town was recently overlooked in the Queen ’ s Platinum Jubilee allocation of the coveted honour .
Nadia believes Middlesbrough will not achieve city status until it provides significantly higher numbers of residential properties in the centre of town .
“ What Middlesbrough is lacking is a significant number of families living in the town centre ,” she says before explaining what the solution could be .
“ At present , many town centre homes are occupied by students . We ’ re dealing with a client who is proposing to build a 10-storey mixed-use development on Borough Road . Nine of those stories will be residential with the ground floor dedicated to retail .
“ Those residential storeys could be occupied by students , freeing up the two and three storey homes in the town centre for families .”
Aaron then adds : “ We support the Mayoral Development Corporation , which has been set up to cut through the red tape that can slow down development and progress . I believe they are doing it with the intention of approving ‘ city worthy ’ developments .
“ A couple of developments I ’ m about to bring to market include the site of The Junction pub on the corner of Union Street and Borough Road , which will include approximately 60 apartments plus ground floor retail space .
“ One thing Middlesbrough has been slow to do , that other towns and cities are doing , is building upwards . When a building goes upwards here , it seems to shock people .
“ But , for Middlesbrough to continue to grow and to bring more people into the centre , we can only build upwards .
Retail – Magnum Properties want to see more mixed-use developments being created in Middlesbrough town centre .
“ It ’ s about helping to untap the potential of Middlesbrough , which is the vision of Andy Preston ( Middlesbrough mayor ) and Ben Houchen ( Tees Valley mayor ), who are both very keen to help the town achieve city status .”
Magnum Properties believe Middlesbrough is in a wonderful position to attract outside investment and that belief is backed-up by the Financial Times ’ European Cities and Regions of the Future report , which placed the town third in a table of potential recipients of development funding .
“ It ’ s our firm belief that the council is doing everything in its power to achieve city status ,” says Aaron , with Nadia confident that Middlesbrough is heading in the right direction .
“ With Middlesbrough standing third in the table , I think we are going to start looking at people who are buying properties to expand upwards or to demolish and build up .
“ We are proud to be working on several multi-storey mixed use developments in the centre . It ’ s essential we maintain the balance between retail , hospitality and residential properties to create a vibrant city centre environment in Middlesbrough .”
