Like a lot of people , I have way too much stuff . My home is crammed with objects I can ’ t seem to stop adding to .
Shelves groan , cupboards bulge . Piles of books , record boxes stuffed with vinyl and row upon row of CDs add to the clutter . Sometimes , we need to be ruthless and get rid of items hiding in drawers or gathering dust in attics . But that ’ s easier said than done , as many hold precious memories of people and places from the past .
During the Covid pandemic , homes also became makeshift workplaces as staying away from the office became the new normal for many people .
This meant valuable home space had to be shared with work-related stuff , putting more pressure on the space around us .
It ’ s time to think outside the box - and inside The Cube .
The Cube Storage is a sister company of Magnum Storage NE Ltd .
The firm ’ s founder got the idea when he was moving properties himself and found that everything was in different places .
How much easier it would be if everything was in one place , he thought .
This led to the creation of The Cube Storage , a multi-purpose facility conveniently located to serve all corners of Teesside and beyond .
The business is based in a distinctive red and black liveried building on Haverton Hill Road , Billingham - handy for the A19 and A66 .
Office manager Philip Ingram says The Cube ’ s prime location means that it ’ s easy to access , offering affordable rooms of all sizes for both business and personal use .
Philip said : “ We are in a good location . All under one roof was our aim . There are flexible office spaces , conference and meeting rooms , meaning we have the facilities for people to actually run their businesses too .”
It also offers a PO Box Service , a safe and secure place for your mail to go . These boxes can be rented on either a monthly , six-monthly or yearly basis , depending on your needs .
This service can also be used by local businesses for packages or correspondence .
“ We currently have many companies that use our storage facilities as a means to keep all of their important documentation safe and secure . With only them having access to their room , and it being in a safe and secure facility , it gives them the peace of mind that all of their paperwork will be protected . As companies are legally required to maintain records for six years , this is the perfect way to save their own space and make use of ours . Clients have access seven days a week .”
The Cube offers a variety of indoor storage spaces , ranging from student lockers to space for full house moves . It also hires out vans to transport your items .
Philip said : “ We offer half price for the first eight weeks on all storage rooms and lockers . We also offer packaging and moving packs to help make sure everything gets from A to B safely .
“ People can store their possessions here if they are between house moves or redecorating their home , or we can offer space to students who are going home for the summer and don ’ t want to take all their stuff with them .
“ We know that people are not just moving house , they are taking precious memories with them .
“ We understand it can be a stressful time , so to ensure their treasured possessions are safe and secure , we have 24-hour CCTV and intruder alarms . If you take indoor storage , you are the sole key holder .”
He said they were able to help a number of people who were moving house when the Covid pandemic hit .
Philip said : “ People were actually shocked we were still open . It helped out a lot of customers because when they were doing house moves , they had somewhere to put their stuff . It was unreal how many customers we got through lockdown .”
It is open seven days a week , including bank holidays .
