5. Case study In this paper, the author has illustrated a case study where the project improvement plan was deployed and implemented in an IT project of a large IT service provider enterprise of India. The case study discusses about the OFIs, identified at the initial stage of the project, design of suitable interventions based on the outcomes of the metrics measured, and the subsequent benefits or value delivered to various stakeholders of business. These metrics were designed specifically to measure the following aspects in the projects: career aspirations of employees, their learning aspirations, satisfaction levels of their roles and responsibilities, leadership skills existing in projects and levels of communication in projects. Core competency of cross-functional teams was leveraged at various stages of the plan.
