Facebook group with helpful links, resources and opportunities for extra $
Fortunately, our club is continuing to pay all employees and independent contractors, so ours has
been a message of optimism and thanks.
Good communication. Lots of humor and uplifting stories.
Group social chat; trainings 4-5 times per week on zoom;
HR department sends weekly communication to all furloughed colleagues to help them stay
connected.
I am personally contacting and connecting with every staff member in the spa on a weekly basis,
either a phone call or a text. I have about 50 employees.
I am self-employed. My clients have actually been helping me stay positive!!!
I call my furloghed team every week to check in and just chat with them. To stay connected and
keep them updated.
I created an email and been motivating the team to share their daily activities including pictures,
recipes, exercises, movies and books. I've been sharing motivational articles and training with the
team.
I have been sending weekly positive messages to my team. I have also been sending them updates
on local resources (food, work, mental health outlets, etc.) and also any updates from our company.
I send a daily newsletter to my employees and independent contractors with updates, opportunities
and helpful resources. I have retained and increased our social media presence as well as sending
positive wellness offerings through bimonthly newsletters as well as encouraging folks to buy retail
online (offering free shipping) and buy gift cards for another time.
I’m transparent. They know what money we have set aside to continue to pay rent, I’ve let them
know all of the aid we’ve applied for (we have not received any funding) and what’s going on
industry wide. We focus on what changes we need to make to open again and I reassure them that
we will have a spa to go back to. We do an annual Easter Egg hunt at the spa. I bought them all visa
gift cards and made Easter baskets to deliver to every employee’s home. I always loved hiding eggs
with cash prizes and goodies through my spa on but didn’t realize the tradition meant so much to
them. I actually had my delivery “Easter egg hunt” in the works when they started saying how sad
they were to miss the egg hunt this year. I think it showed how much I really genuinely care. We
meet about weekly via Zoom, I check in more often with the ones who are having mental health
challenges with the isolation. We keep active together about their lives in our team Facebook group.
Some have emerged as amazing positive leaders.
Just one on one texting and communications.
Keep in touch. Have them provide helpful tips to add to the newsletter that goes out to our residents
