Although our spa is closed for now, I reach out to my team every morning through a group text. I
always include a inspirational quote. I want them to know I think about them daily.
As a leader it is critical to stay engaged, stay in touch, and install confidence in your team.
Assistance has really helped with creating positive energy. I personally try and be really responsive
to every call/text/email. Every response is always delivered with kindness and empathy. I try to
encourage taking this opportunity to get grounded, take time to do the internal work and self care. I
just shared with my team the science of well being course provides on the iSpa website.

Created virtual training and fitness classes to keep in touch with our members. Tips of the day for
positive reinforcement. Created a retail show via Facebook to lighten the mood while selling our
products. Have workshops on nutrition and have will have a medical doctor do a Zoom conference
that will be interactive.
Daily Gratitude Hour for Resort Employees (via zoom) to log in and connect
Daily quote to all team members and uplifting weekly message from Chairman and SVP. Weekly ops
team call with all staff still on payroll to connect, have fun, share playlists, binge worthy shows and
talk serious spa business. Facetime via MS Teams!
Daily videos from CEO to check in with employees; our facility employs close to 500 people; Zoom
meetings for face to face conversation
Do sport. call family and friends, and your staff to check on them. help if you can with food . Stay at
home.
E-mailing online CEU opportunities to staff.
Even thou we are all on furlough, The Spa Leadership Team as split the phone list and we rotate thru
the team each week to check in, deliver supplies and food, send resource partner communications
on trainings and PK samples. We also have an app thru our company, Hyatt. We have a private
Facebook page.
