Sheet metal CAD / CAM software versions

After extensive field testing at over 300 of its customers worldwide, sheet metal software specialist Metalix has released new versions of its cncKadV23, MBendV17 and MRobotV17 products.
“ Packed with over 200 new features and support for the latest machine models and technology in sheet metal fabrication, these new versions will boost manufacturer productivity and optimise material usage,” it told ISMR.
For cncKad / AutoNest V23, new features include a new SVG preview format, new 3D part file formats and Fly Cut for oval holes enhancement. Job numbers for parts, log file output settings and global optimisation for split skeleton features are also offered. Optimisation by contour size and from small to large, multi-view support for SubNest, a one-pierce process and split long parts as well as Auto Sheet ID enhancement are some of the other features.

Its JobTrack software now includes enhanced features including automated job
execution; auto background AJE; product operations; Non-Part Elements and SubNest custom fields in the schedule. Users can save DFT content in DB, create a product from an exported assembly( showing cost columns in order), configure machine stoppage events and produce JobTrack estimation reports.
New features for MBend V17 include new open part dialogue; direct opening for Solid Edge and Inventor parts, and support for sheet followers and native SolidWorks 2025, with an Aizawa post-processor.
“ Our MRobot V17 program now offers enhanced support for parametric gripper creation; out-pallets settings per cell and per part, and new icons in the tree path. Other features include close clamp during motion; a preferred joints family; enhancement in setting position limits in rail tab and the ability to adjust in-plane values in gripping adjustments,” concluded the software manufacturer. n

Fronius to unveil welding innovations

The highlights at trade shows in September 2025 for welding specialist Fronius will include the world premiere of“ a next-level manual MIG / MAG welding system” and a support system for manual welders.
In addition, Fronius will showcase solutions for every welding challenge, from robot and cobot applications to customised automation systems. Fronius will also celebrate 20 years of precision with its CMT( Cold Metal Transfer) process.
“ In line with this year’ s Schweissen & Schneiden( S & S) trade fair motto,‘ Join the Future’, we will focus on key drivers in welding technology such as resource efficiency, welding safety and the skilled labour shortage. The spotlight will also be on tailor-made automation systems and cobots, including collaborative systems, smart sensor technology, offline programming( with welding simulation) and much more,” Fronius told ISMR.
“ Visitors will be able to experience mechanised welding with the iWave and DynamicWire firsthand. The same goes for the precision WireSense 2.0 technology, the Pathfinder and seamless interaction between the welding power source, robot and digital solutions,” it continued.
“ Show visitors will be able to discover the latest Fronius welding solutions and explore live demonstrations at multiple welding stations at the Schweissen & Schneiden trade show in Essen, Germany( stand 3B55), and at the FABTECH trade show in Chicago( USA) on stand B29001,” it added.
