Tool handling in focus
Roemheld presented several innovations at Blechexpo 2025( 21-24 October 2025) in Stuttgart, Germany, to help manufacturers to reduce set-up times in sheet metal forming and to increase operational reliability. On its stand 8505 in Hall 8, it showcased the R-MAG-M, the company’ s first magnetic clamping system for sheet metal forming. This offers interchangeable magnetic poles and display of the clamping force on an 8-inch screen, features that were requested by customers.
“ Within seconds, the electro-permanent magnetic system secures dies of various sizes and geometries automatically and without distortion for secure clamping, even in the event of a power failure. Temperature sensors, position switches and flux measurement sensors monitor the system during sheet metal forming. The replaceable magnetic poles simplify maintenance and minimise downtime, as defective poles can be replaced on-site,” it said.
A new, electrically operated variant of the RW 1000 series of die-changing carts for tool loads of up to 1,000kg was also on display. Unlike its manually driven counterparts, the RW 1000 ELMO has electrically actuated lift and drive. Also available is a B version, with an additional integrated docking strip at the front( making it easier to move the dies onto the machine table).
For particularly heavy tools, Roemheld presented the new RWT die-changing cart.
“ The electric vehicle, with radio remote control for ergonomic die handling of loads of up to 4,000kg, is a fully integrated transport solution. It combines a powerful drive with an electro-hydraulic lifting platform, an integrated push-pull system, hydraulic ball bars and docking devices. This enables safe transport, effortless automatic extension and retraction and precise positioning of heavy dies. A radio remote control ensures flexibility and ergonomics,” added Roemheld.
On the stand at Blechexpo in Stuttgart was a Flexline-R quick-acting clamping system for press dies, based upon the Flexline models and optimised for heavy loads. It is suitable for automated press lines on which die changes are frequent.
“ Flexline R is available with two adjustment ranges and with various hollow piston cylinders offering clamping forces of up to 104kN. The compact design, low weight and use of low-maintenance modules

facilitate installation and servicing. Due to the inclusion of an integrated line for energy supply and signal transmission, a separate guide is not required,” confirmed Roemheld.
“ There is also a new Green Edition variant with a 24-volt DC power supply, which is used instead of the 120- or 400-volt AC motor in the original version. The extra-low voltage simplifies project planning and makes the element compatible with almost any press worldwide,” concluded the manufacturer. n

Launch of new waterjet cutting system
Hypertherm Associates, a U. S.-based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, launched OMAX ® MAXIEM ® X Series JetMachining Centers at two major industry events in September( FABTECH 2025 in Chicago, USA, and Marmomac 2025 in Verona, Italy).
“ Visitors to both shows saw live demonstrations of the new MAXIEM in action. This latest evolution in waterjet cutting technology cuts complex parts out of most materials( including metal, plastic, glass, ceramic, stone and composites) and generates surface finishes that often eliminate the need for secondary machining. Now with enhanced
The OMAX ® MAXIEM ® X Series JetMachining Center. features, the MAXIEM is engineered for shops that require intelligent performance. Every detail has been reimagined to deliver a cutting experience that’ s smarter and more intuitive,” said the manufacturer.
The MAXIEM features the latest version of IntelliMAX ®, the OMAX premium software suite, which now includes the IntelliVISOR ® Mobile app. IntelliVISOR Mobile enables remote live cut monitoring, systems status and problem alerts, remote pause and instant notifications. It is available for iOS and Android operating systems.
Other standard features on the new
MAXIEM include tank rub rails and an improved abrasive hopper. In addition to reducing the risk of rust, the rub rails prevent damage to the catcher tank and the workpiece during loading and unloading.
“ The patent-pending, new abrasive hopper is engineered to contain abrasive material within the hopper to avoid external spillage. The seven-poundcapacity hopper provides advanced incoming abrasive filtering and is compatible with an optional Abrasive Clog
Detection system that automatically pauses the machine when a clog is detected. With the Abrasive Clog Detection system, an operator can immediately restore flow and keep the machine running. For improved visibility on the cutting table, under-bridge lighting is also an optional feature available on the new MAXIEM line,” added Hypertherm Associates.
“ With expanded customisation and accessory configurations, MAXIEM adapts to your workflow and grows with your business. The MAXIEM is supported by specialist factory training and a global network of technical support specialists,” it concluded.
Hypertherm products include Hypertherm plasma and OMAX waterjet systems which are used by companies around the world. In addition to cutting systems, the company creates CNCs and software. Founded in 1968, Hypertherm Associates is a 100 percent Associate-owned company, employing approximately 2,000 Associates, with operations and partner representation worldwide. n
