DSF-NE2 servo press

In early 2021 , AIDA unveiled its new DSF- NE2 , a monolithic two-point servo press that combines the high rigidity of one-piece frame with the flexibility of the fully programmable servo motion of AIDA DSF ® technology . DSF-NE2 presses are equipped with AIDA ’ s high-torque , low-speed servo motor for metal forming and stamping . Every frame component is designed and verified with FEM systems .

The manufacturer has developed an energy control architecture that replaces the kinetic energy storage capacity of a flywheel with the electrical energy storage capacity of capacitors . In fact , the peak electrical energy required during the forming phase is predominantly provided by the electrical energy previously stored in capacitors , leading to “ an energy demand from the power grid comparable to that of a mechanical press .”
