Dr . Tobias Braun , CFO of the BENTELER Group , added : “ Our hard work over the past few years is bearing fruit . Both of our divisions achieved remarkable results in 2023 . The increase in earnings in our automotive business is particularly pleasing . We took advantage of the upturn in the market to generate EBITDA of € 452 million . We also built on the previous year ’ s good result in our steeltube business with EBITDA of € 332 million . The consistent implementation of our strategy is clearly proving successful .”

With a relatively small proportion of standard products , BENTELER ’ s Steel / Tube division offers over 85 % customised and tailor-made products . Sustainability and electric mobility are also of crucial importance . By increasing the billet size at its Dinslaken plant ( Germany ), it has increased productivity and expanded its product range . With larger billets , it can produce more sophisticated and diverse tube products to better meet the needs of the oil and gas sector .
BENTELER has over 44 hot-forming lines worldwide . With this technology , high-strength products can be manufactured using the minimum of material , thereby ensuring high safety with minimal weight .
In addition , it can offer design solutions made of high-strength aluminium or steel that reduce weight by up to 30 %. High-strength steel enables a thinner-walled design of tubes . Substituting solid material solutions with tube solutions or designing tube wall thicknesses
BENTELER HYRESIST
Intensive efforts are being made worldwide to reduce greenhouse gases : Europe plans to be CO₂-neutral by 2050 and Germany wants to achieve this goal as early as 2045 . To achieve this , new energy sources are needed . For example , ‘ green ’ hydrogen which , because it ’ s produced using renewable energy , is CO₂-free .
BENTELER has now added seamless , hot-rolled tubes and pipes for the safe distribution of hydrogen to its portfolio : BENTELER HYRESIST . Designed for the construction of hydrogen distribution networks , the range helps make the alternative energy source more readily available and the targeted CO₂ neutrality more quickly achievable . These hydrogen line pipes support industry in building the infrastructure for the energy source of the future .
