BENTELER is a global group of companies that develops , produces and distributes products , systems and services for the automotive , industrial and energy sectors . Now owned by the fifth generation of the founding family ( it was founded in 1876 by Carl Benteler ), the group is managed by BENTELER International AG based in Salzburg , Austria . The company employs 23,000 people and is represented at 86 sites in 26 countries .

As of 2024 , business operations are organised into four divisions : BENTELER Automotive Components ( BAC ), BENTELER Automotive Modules ( BAM ), BENTELER Steel / Tube ( BST ) and HOLON . The Automotive business , which is organised into the two BAC
The HOLON Mover , an autonomous and fully electric vehicle . and BAM divisions , develops and produces components and modules for chassis , body and engine and exhaust systems as well as system solutions for electric vehicles . BENTELER Steel / Tube develops and produces steel and seamless and welded quality steel tubes for automotive , energy and industrial markets . It provides customised tube solutions from material development to tube application . BENTELER covers the entire supply chain from its own steel production to the tube and processing of the finished component .

HOLON is a subsidiary of the BENTELER Group . It is an OEM for autonomous movers and , through HOLON , BENTELER aims to redefine passenger transport in public and private sectors . BENTELER Glass Processing Equipment is a supplier of flat glass processing equipment . BENTELER Mechanical Engineering develops and manufactures continuous furnaces , production equipment for chassis components and structural parts as well as equipment for automated loading and unloading of furnaces and presses . The production of tools for hot forming rounds off BENTELER ’ s portfolio .
2023 results in focus
2023 was a pivotal year for BENTELER . It secured refinancing at an early stage and successfully completed the restructuring of the group . It also confirmed a record order intake of more than € 11 billion in its automotive business .
Despite a slight decline in sales last year , BENTELER increased its EBITDA by € 79 million to € 782 million in 2023 . Revenue in BENTELER ’ s Automotive Division increased by around € 200 million despite lower inflationary effects . EBITDA of € 452 million also significantly exceeded the previous year ’ s figure by around € 100 million . It has also invested in numerous sites — for example , its sites in Schwandorf ( Germany ) and Kariega ( South Africa )— and established a new site in Bratislava ( Slovakia ).
