EGB-4010e AMADA Tools Set-Up Assistant at EuroBLECH .
ISMR : Tell us about your new punching innovations at EuroBLECH .
MW : Our 30T electric servo-drive EM- 3612ZRTe punching machine includes an automatic tool storage unit with a capacity of 300 tools and 600 dies . With a fully brushcovered , lower tool turret and multiple forming capabilities , the EM-3612ZRTe is a highly productive offering , especially when paired with our compact automation modules and tooling solutions . Scratch-free processing possibilities become reality due to the unique lower die mechanism .
This machine will be linked to AMADA ’ s ID TOGU tool grinder which provides an intelligent link between tool maintenance and automatic die height setting on the punching machine to extend tool life – in fact , the digitalisation of tool grinding . This drastically reduces tool set-up errors as well as minimising any other set-up times , such as putting small shims under the dies . This ultimately means that the punching operation is more productive .

AMADA introduces a hybrid line-up of servo-electric and hydraulic press brakes
Building on its EG bending machine , AMADA has developed a new series of servo-electric press brakes . These range from ergonomic and stand-alone benders , available with or without an automatic tool-changer , to robotic models . This new range of machines complements its existing HRB hydraulic series .
The servo-electric EGB-e series is designed to meet high customer requirements while remaining userfriendly , even for less experienced operators . AMADA ’ s new EGB-1303ARse bending cell is fully automatic , requiring the operator just to load the parts to produce and unload them when completed .
The HRB series is a flexible machine that can be adapted to customers ’ production needs , adding accessories such as the angle indicator for in-cycle bend angle adjustment , an automatic sliding foot pedal , sheet followers and an active crowning system to achieve good linearity even with nonstandard bending condition . All solutions are designed to simplify the operator ’ s work while increasing productivity .
The EGB-e series features the new AMNC 4ie numerical control , which is faster and has a larger display . The EGB-4010e is a compact machine , specifically designed to produce small and complex components . The chair , front table , side shelves and new concept AMADA Tool Set-up Assistant are designed to provide the operator with support , ensuring that all necessary items are within reach .
The stand-alone bending machines , ranging from 60 tonnes and 2 metres to 130 tonnes and 3 metres ( the latter with automatic tool-changer ), are equipped with three fully independent fingers and an automatic asymmetrical crowning device . This electrically operated device allows the operator to make corrections at four points . A 360 ° camera inside the
The EGB-1303ARse bending cell won a EuroBLECH Award this October . machine shows the theoretical bending position overlaid on the real-time position via a tablet in front of the operator , simplifying the handling of complex parts . The tablet also provides safety instructions based on the current process and shows the actual final bend angle when used with the Bi-SII , enabling immediate quality control without interrupting production .
The new Bi-SII angle sensor is faster than its predecessor , handles shorter flanges , measures at three points and corrects the angle to achieve accurate bends by driving the two axes of the upper beam and the two crowning device axes .
The EGB-1303ARse bending cell , which won a EuroBLECH Award this October , can be equipped with equipment to automate every step . This includes automatic offline programming software ; a double loading area with two cameras for part recognition ; a loading robot for cycle time optimisation ; automatic gripper change ; automatic tool- change ; three rear fingers to align the bending part in each direction ; automatic angle adjustment with Bi-S II and various unloading solutions , from classic pallets to conveyors to automatic pallet change .
ISMR : Where do you see areas of growth for AMADA ’ s European business next year ?
MW : Referring back to our ‘ One AMADA ’ strategy , we are focusing on synergistic growth by highlighting all the various facets to AMADA ’ s portfolio .
We want customers to understand that can supply everything for their sheet metal needs , from micro welding applications , laser- cutting and bending , up to power presses and machining .
One part of this strategy is the opening of the Welding Technical Center in Italy , where we are showing solutions for sub-kW to multi-kW applications .
We also have machining centres in several of our European locations , again highlighting the broad capabilities that AMADA is able to offer its customers .
ISMR : What is your approach to technologies such as Artificial Intelligence ?
MW : We use artificial intelligence ( AI ) in the software that automatically programs our new part picker . So , an operator introduces the parts and the software will perform nesting and apply part-picking and stacking information , so that the operator doesn ’ t have to do anything .
