FACE TO FACE

Matt Wood next to the 26kW AMADA REGIUS fibre laser cutting system at EuroBLECH 2024 .
We are also showing a 15kW ENSIS- 3015AJe with Variable Beam Control technology at EuroBLECH , with one diode module , teamed with some automation ( a high storage tower and a new version of the TKII part-picker , with more picking and stacking capacity plus label printer for part identification i . e . barcodes and QR codes ). We are calling this a flexible manufacturing cell . Again , the beam quality is very high so we can process faster , with thinner material and with better quality on thick material . A skid cleaning blade on the unloading forks of the tower removes slugs or debris stuck on the slats , to help ensure continuous operation .
We are also showcasing our Fiber Silky Cut function . Almost like a COâ‚‚ cut edge on stainless steel , this also gives a very highquality aluminium finish . We are showing that functionality on the 15kW laser machine .
We have also introduced a 9kW version of our VENTIS fibre laser machine . There is no beam-shaping functionality on this , but we run different patters with the beam . It offers the performance of a machine of between 10 and 12kW , but with just 9kW of power . The machine can process mild steel , stainless steel and aluminium , as well as copper and brass . We are running a demonstration at EuroBLECH where we cut three completely different grades of 30mm mild steel , without changing the cutting data .
We have also updated the LBC Flash Cut on the 9kW VENTIS-3015AJe . LBC stands for Locus Beam Control , a beam pattern function that offers small round hole cutting , and now square hole cutting , functionality . The cutting head moves to the middle of the holes on the sheet and the LBC unit makes the beam do the circle or square . It means the machine can work very quickly on small round or square holes . The manufacturing cell features a compact double tower storage system with 34 shelves , increasing lights-out possibilities .
Another new feature is Quick Corner Control ( QCC ). If you need a very sharp corner on a thin material part , traditionally
AMADA ’ s EGB-1303ATCe press brake .
the machine would have to decelerate into the corner and accelerate out of the corner . That adds processing time . With QCC , the cutting head performs a smooth arc motion and the LBC system ensures a sharp corner . A demonstration of this on our booth at EuroBLECH shows that this saves almost 40 % processing time ( using a circular saw blade shape ). However , we ran a typical customer

part on it , with a lot of thin material needing changes of direction in the laser cutting pattern , and it saved around 12 % of processing time on that one part . This is a massive benefit for thinner material cutting .
ISMR : Please take us through your new bending innovations on the booth here at EuroBLECH ?
MW : We are introducing four fully electric press brakes here at EuroBLECH . There is a unique type of drive on these electric machines . In the past , we had a small electric press brake with a dual motor ( one for the high-speed approach and one for the hightonnage force ). On the new EGB-e pressbrakes , there is one single motor for both operations . We have one at each end of the machine ; rather than using belts that can stretch , we use servo motors and a gearbox .
You can also see our new 130-ton , 3m EGB-e machine with the automatic toolchanger on the booth . We are also showing a 60-ton , 2m machine and a 40-ton , 1m machine . On the side of this machine is a concept idea called the AMADA Tools Set-Up Assistant ; it is a manual tool storage system with swing-out racks for the upper tools and pull-out drawers for the lower tools . We are gathering feedback from European customers here at EuroBLECH on this concept .
All our electric press brakes feature the new AMNC 4ie controls that our blanking machines already integrate . The AMNC 4ie control is easy to use , features facial recognition and can change language ( for different machine operators ) to remove any ambiguities . There is also more functionality and guidance for the operators .
