JP: Please tell the readers of ION INDIE about yourself MW: Peace. I am Miranda Writes and I'm an emcee who loves, appreciates, and believes in the power of Hip Hop culture. My music and my movement is based around posi vity, truth, and spreading a message. The core of Hip Hop is fun, and I think Hip Hop is a genre for the people. I use my freedom of expression as a way to connect with my listeners, vibe with them, and build with them. Music speaks in a way that everything else can't. JP: Any new projects on the horizon? MW: Right now I'm currently working with the legendary producer HERB MIDDLETON. We have some really dope unreleased tracks and I can't wait to put them out! Each record has a different vibe and I'm really excited about what's next. JP: Who would you most love to work with? MW: Ah, that's pre y hard! There's a lot of great ar sts. I would love to work with EMINEM, J. COLE, KENDRICK, MISSY ELLIOT, GWEN STEFANI, JAY-Z, RAKIM, LAURYN HILL…and a ton more…lol. On the “producer” side, it would definitely be dope to do some work with DRE, DJ PREMIER, PHARRELL, PETE ROCK, RZA, etc. JP: Who/What would you consider your biggest influence? MW: My biggest influence overall is LIFE. Life is a crazy beau ful journey, and my day to day experiences is what inspires me to write and create. The na on helped not only expand my knowledge on the culture, but also allowed me to dig deep into the different elements. All of the elements make up Hip Hop…which is why Hip Hop will live forever. JP: Do you feel it is important as a FEMALE MC to be a posi ve role model for young ladies? MW: Absolutely! I think it's important for both young ladies and women in general to have role models they can relate to. It’s important women understand the power we hold in society.
