So I won’t be spending my entire life at home. Why do I keep this goal
as a memento? It reminds me of who I was. It reminds me that however I
defined it, and however I have come to define it, home will always be the
most important thing in my life, no matter the changes. !
!
Home is the little town of Pacific Palisades, California. Most of the old
restaurants and shops have closed down or reopened as new things since I
was younger. I don’t live in the same house as I once did. A lot has
changed there, just as I have changed. But it will always be home.!
!
Home is Palisades AZA #2536. When I joined, it was the newest and
smallest chapter in what was then Pacific Coast Region (yep, that changed
too). We experienced so many changes in the last 5 years. We’ve grown. A
lot. It makes me proud to represent the little chapter that could—and did.
Even as I leave it, I’m proud to have called it home.!
!
Home is Pacific Western Region #44. The biggest change of all
happened here. I sat in a conference room for hours into the night
discussing and debating the future of PCR and SWR. A lot changed that
night. A lot has changed since. I can only hope that change for the better
continues far into the future. I’ll always be grateful I was able to shape
this home.!
!
Home is Aleph Zadik Aleph. Home is BBYO. Home is Pacific Palisades.
Home is Los Angeles. Home is summer camp. Home is school. Home is
the relationships we create in the most significant places and
moments in our lives. Home is where we feel the most welcomed.!
!
In failing to forever stay at home, I did just that.
