The word authenticity has a strange look to it and this is due to it not being a word that is used so often
in these modern times, and this is because it’s been replaced by “traditional” “the old way,” or by the
trendy “real deal.”
As a lover of having
in all things that are my life, I´m looking forward to exploring my
innermost consciousness and finding out how real my feelings are on the subject, how authentic if you
like, so sit back and enjoy your tea/coffee, blueberry muffin or buttered scone as I wander into my
innermost thoughts.
To be authentic every day is something we humans can aspire to, but rarely do we come up to the
mark on a 24/7 basis. I live in southern Spain and as true to who I am when at home making
breakfast, eating it and washing up, when I step outside the door and drift into the main square to have
an authentic cup of coffee and a magdelana (fairy cake), the business of interacting with others becomes
quite a challenge … if it is
we are talking about.
“Quiero un cortado,
por favor.”
* From Spanish: May I have a cup of coffee, please?
