CHEAHA CHALLENGE The Cheaha Challenge returns for its 23rd year May 17, starting at Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, with race options for 24, 44, 62, 84, 100 and 124 mile (ULTRA) distances that climb over Mount Cheaha, the highest point in the state. 100-mile run and more than 11,000 feet in the 124-mile ULTRA route, meaning that the ULTRA crams an extra 2,000 feet of climbing into a fourth of the entire century ride’s distance. It’s no mistake that it’s listed as being for experienced riders only.
