IRON MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE/WOODLAND
CENTURY CHALLENGE
The Woodland-Calhoun Century Challenge
has a brand new name - the Iron Mountain
Challenge, taking place March 28 at the Anniston Aquatic Center at Fort McClellan.
The ride takes cyclists 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles
through scenic Northeast Alabama, starting
from the Chief Ladiga Trail and heading into
the Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge and through Talladega National Forest.
Riders can choose the ride length that best
suits them and the challenge they’d like,
with modest climbs on the 25-mile course
and tricky elevation spikes on the 100-mile
course.
The Iron Mountain Challenge is non-competitive, so there are no winners or losers,
but medals are available for purchase for
$25 through active.com’s online race registration.
Race registration is $25 through March 18,
$30 on ride day and open to all riders regardless of age, gender or ability.
For more information, including registration forms to print and mail or online registration, route maps with elevation or
safety info, visit ironmountainchallenge.
