The Coastguard BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA St Margaret’s Bay Nr Dover CT15 6DY 01304 853176 www.thecoastguard.co.uk thecoastguard@talk21.com @TheCoastguard The Coastguard Pub & Restaurant isn’t hard to find. Head for the sound of the waves lapping against the white cliffs of Dover, follow the delicious aroma of local produce cooking in a busy kitchen, search out the glint of freshly poured ale. When the English Channel is about to wet your toes, you’ll be there. Admittedly, it’s a location hard to beat. A pub with its own beach and views across to France when the weather’s clear. Couples say it’s decidedly romantic; families say it’s great fun. It’s true that when you get to us your mobile phone might think you’re already in France (it is only 23 miles away) but The Coastguard prides itself on being an entirely British-orientated seaside “home from home.” We like to keep things simple. Our friendly, family-run establishment has a garden with bench seating for sunny days, a large alfresco terrace for year-round drinking and dining, a busy bar for cosy evenings, and a restaurant for relaxed dining. Chef Sam Wydymus takes the finest local ingredients and crafts her menu according to the tides, the weather and the seasons. The menu changes twice daily depending upon the availability of local produce but our sample menu on our website should give you an idea of some of the things that may appear on your visit. We’d love to see you soon. The Coastguard – your home by the sea. 36
