Laura Bounds MBE , who was born and raised in Kent , is the owner of multiple successful Kent businesses , including Kent Crisps , Kentish Oils and Condiments and A Little Bit . Having only taken over Kent Crisps and Kentish Oils and Condiments in 2017 , she has ensured the businesses grow from strength to strength , and has grown Kent Crisps into a globally recognised brand that can be bought all over the world .
Ensuring her vision of success has been a process of not just creating the best , most delicious products around , but also about creating brand awareness that has made Kent Crisps a household name . To do this Laura has been interacting with and overseeing every aspect of her businesses since she became owner , and her drive and determination has definitely paid off !
Just some of her achievements include winning the Taste of Kent Award , ‘ Kent Food and Drink Business of the Year ’, and did we mention that Laura was awarded an MBE in the Queen ’ s New Year Honours for Services to International Trade ?!
When we asked Laura what she owed this incredible success , she pondered ; ‘ I would attribute my successes to being extremely passionate … Resilience , relentlessness and being a perfectionist have also been key .’ So to anyone looking to follow in Laura ’ s footsteps and become the next royally recognised mogul of Kent , Laura advises three things ; confidence in your abilities , hard work , and to not be afraid of a little failure .
Emma Pinford is quite the remarkable woman , from running marathons , to Girl Bossing it up with her business group ; Bond Street to Your Street , to being super mum to 7 … yes 7 children , she really does seem like superwoman . But how does she do it ? Well luckily we were able to find out !
After a previous ethical clothing venture quickly became a hit with customers , Emma decided to open Bond Street to Your Street in Cranbrook – the first of the now three locations she owns and runs in Kent – where she sells pre-owned designer fashion at high-street prices . Being based in Kent has also had a big impact on Emma and her businesses trajectory ; ‘ I am originally from Kent and I love the independent boutique feel that Kent brings . I feel passionate about supporting local and love being part of a strong loyal community .’
Not only is Emma an enviously accomplished businesswomen , building her Kent empire on ethical practices and an environmentally friendly , and humanitarian philosophy , she also ( somehow ) finds time to be a dedicated philanthropist . She is currently using lockdown 3.0 to raise money for local mental health charity ; The Sam West Foundation ( www . samwestfoundation . org ) by running a marathon a week . When asked how she juggles all her different hats , Emma explained ; ‘ Running three stores and having a large family is a tricky balancing act , however , they are everything to me and are the main reason I continue to work so hard . Mental health is a subject close to my heart , and I wanted to push myself for a good cause .’
