For the drivers protection a full
roll-cage and front and rear
impact areas known as clips are
used. For added safety, a full
race harness and professional
racing seat with inboard fire
systems (or a hand held system)
are essential. The only
modifications allowed to the
chassis are to accommodate
driver’s seat and steering
position.
The Winters axle allows quick
gear changing so although the
cars mainly race on short-track
tarmac ovals, you also get the
occasional banked oval at pretty
much any UK racing circuit.
Believe it or not these cars are
capable of reaching speeds in
excess of 140mph and with an
amazing 10 to 1 power to weight
ratio so these cars are just like
the NASCARs.
