3.1 Investigate opportunities to

and Torres Strait Islander
employment outcomes within our
workplace as part of KU’s overall
workforce strategy
3.1.1 Engage with existing Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander staff and consult on employment strategies,
including professional development.
3.1.2 Collect information on our current Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander staff to inform future employment
opportunities.
3.1.3 Develop and implement an Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander employment and retention strategy.
3.1.4 Develop and implement Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander employment pathways, through mentoring and
exploration of traineeships.
3.1.5 Continue to advertise all vacancies in Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander media.
3.1.6 Review HR and recruitment procedures and policies to
ensure there are no barriers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander employees and future applicants participating in our
workplace.
3.1.7 Engage with external Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander peoples and/or consultants to advise on recruitment,
employment and retention strategies, including professional
development.
3.1.8 Provide one internship or traineeship opportunity for
an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student in our
workplace each year.

meaningful services to children and families, and equip our staff to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
