INM MAGAZINE VOLUME 8 | FEBRUARY 2016 Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” Finnacle, the finance club, to keep up with the de rigueur of current challenging times, hosted its first inter-college event of the year, FinsQape – Be the Warren. A pool of 500 million was provided to each team and they were asked to invest their money in ten sectors ranging from IT & Airline sector to Ecommerce and Manufacturing sector. When the mind is strong it sees opportunity, when the mind is weak, it sees problem; To be like Warren you need to make good of every opportunity that comes your way and that's what the participants did making this event a hit among every student appreciative of the nuances of finance. The much awaited Mr. & Miss Freshers took place after an enthralling Karaoke night. The contestants engaged in various activities . and gave their best efforts to prove themselves worthy of the title as they danced to some peppy tunes leaving the crowd mesmerized. Lord Ganesha is our mentor and protector; He enriches our lives by removing obstacles and giving us great beginnings. NMIMS celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi in his honour. This year, for the very first time, we saw a full-fledged celebration of this holy festival. . A beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha graced our college cafeteria. As per rituals, Ganesha was worshiped and in the evening, he bid adieu to his devotees. Lord Krishna preached in Bhagwad Geeta, “It's be er to perform ones' own duties imperfectly than to master the duties of another. By fulfilling the obligations he is born with, a person never comes to grief.” Nexus mastered their duty of making the life at NMIMS exciting . The festival of Janamashtmi – Lord Krishna's birthday, was celebrated with a traditional flavour. Images of Krishna's infancy were placed and his cradle was decorated with flowers and lights. A small puja was performed by the students followed by a Dahi Handi competition in the spirit of this joyous festival. 41
