I Began to Feel
God’s Love Again
Talking to Stephen Ministry care receivers
reveals the power of this ministry. The
following is an excerpt from the national
organization in St. Louis, written by
Amity Haugk, daughter of the founder of
Stephen Ministry.
A young woman in her early 30’s, just ending an
eight-year relationship, moved to a location closer to
family who subsequently had to move away. She felt
bereft especially since her grandfather had just died
too. It was one of the hardest times of her life. She
needed to talk to someone, but had not developed
any close, comfortable friendships. Her church had
a Stephen Ministry.
This care receiver felt that asking for a Stephen Minister
is the best thing she could have done for herself. She
encourages anyone who is suffering, discouraged,
or going through a difficult time to ask for a Stephen
Minister. Say, ‘Yes!’ It is really life-changing.
