Extravagant Generosity SERVE Raise Your Hands to Are you ready to raise your hands in service? Ready to extend a helping hand? Maybe even get your hands dirty? Here are some service opportunities for families suggested by Andrea Czartoryski, Children and Family Ministry Director. Around the World: UMCOR – The United Methodist Committee on Relief is an organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. Together with your family, provide a relief supply kit. These health kits, sewing kits, school kits, bedding kits, birthing kits, and cleaning buckets help provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. Find out how you can help at umcor.org/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies Support the Troops – Make cards, bookmarks, or donate books for our troops overseas in Kuwait, Korea, Afghanistan and Tonga! Ingomar Living Waters – Collect and give money that will help to build wells for people around the world who do not have access to clean water. Rainbow Christian Missions – This mission group sponsors children in school, and provides medicine, water wells, food, and more to the people of Butere, Kenya. Soon we’ll make rainbow loom bracelets for the mission team to take to the children of Butere this summer! Get a head start by making a child-sized bracelet and dropping it off in Ms. Andrea’s office! Bethany House Ministries operates free health, education, and childcare programs 12 in the Northview Heights area of Pittsburgh. Volunteers from Ingomar Church help with after-school programs each Wednesday afternoon during the school year. Our volunteers also provide a hot supper for approximately 20 children. North Hills Community Outreach – NHCO provides services for struggling families and individuals include two food pantries, utility assistance, emergency financial help, and so much more at nhco.org Light of Life Rescue Mission – This mission on the Northside provides a home for the homeless and food for the hungry. Fundraise or donate household items, bedding, bath linens, supplies for children and babies, Bibles, food, or other needed items. Learn more at lightoflife.org In Ingomar Church: Hospitality – Together at home, make cookies or cupcakes for the snack table at your service. Greeting – Greet at one of the doors before your service. Welcome people with a family hello and smiles! Ushering – Pass out bulletins and collect the offering with your family. Connect! – Help to set up and take down tables and chairs for Connect dinner on Wednesday nights. Sparkle Day – Plant flowers, clear light brush from the outdoor chapel, rake leaves, and more to help make our church grounds sparkle! Summer Pew Detail Duty – Serve our church by straightening and organizing the information in the pew backs in our sanctuary. Make a card! – Lift the spirits of someone who may be ill or in the hospital. Contact the church office to find out who might be in need of an uplifting card, and then get creative!
