You can also see the rate of unsubscribing – so if you send out an email about a particular topic and you get a lot of people unsubscribing , maybe that ' s not what your audience wants to hear … but if you send an email and there ' s a lot of click throughs , that shows you it ' s a really popular topic , and perhaps from there you could go and develop a webinar or resources to build an engaged audience .
Can you build an engaged following on social media without any financial investment ?
Yes , of course you can ! Sharing and doing shares with similar sized pages is a good starting point . Even if the other page is completely outside of your area , it will help you grow and diversify your following to begin with , and then you can really start targeting and finding your niche . You just need to get eyes on your content to start with .
Following trends is a big one as well – sometimes it ' s music , a hashtag , what people are talking about … Looking through the media and news articles and seeing what people are talking about and then developing and creating content around that helps with building an engaged following , too .
