talented musicians in this world as possible. I would also like to open a performing arts centre one day in the distant future. I have acted in many television shows as a principle performer, but I would love to play a leading role in a feature film one day.
IAM: What do you think your“ biggest break” or“ greatest opportunity” has been so far in your music career? I have had so many great opportunities in my music career. I had a couple label artist contracts this year, but nothing that I felt was good enough. I am still awaiting my big break; everyday I am a step closer. Being an artist is one of the hardest career paths anyone could pursue. It is a very difficult industry to crack. I have been blessed to perform for the National ballet of Canada in front of 2000 people everynight for 2 weeks. Being pictured in VIBE Magazine was amazing exposure and a great opportunity. Singing the National anthem for the Blue Jays Game in front of thousands was also a great opportunity. I did a crazy press tour in Trinidad that put me on the map there which was very important to me since Trinidad is my home away from home. I am moving to the UK though so United Kingdom watch out! However, I do have to say that working and building a relationship with UK producer NHD is the beginning to my
20 big break as I believe that we are a force as a team. We have also been told this by many and I know we will move mountains.
IAM: How would you define the word“ success”? The definition of success is so objective. I believe there are many levels of success. When you put your mind to something, no matter what that something is, and you achieve what you set out to do, that to me is success. Success is believing in your dreams and making your dreams a reality. My personal quote has always been“ Dreaming is Believing.” Once you conquer that... success is inevitable.
IAM: What live performance experience have you had? I have been singing live since I was 5 years old. I started performing professionally in musical stage shows all over Canada at the tender age of 19. I have played the lead role of Belle in“ Beauty and the Beast,” the lead role of Rosie in“ Bye Bye Birdie” and the lead role of Deena Jones in“ Dreamgirls,” only to name a few. I have sung for the National Ballet of Canada and have sang the anthems for sports teams which Iʼve already mentioned. I sang back-up for Shania Twain and have headlined my own shows, especially lately now that I am promoting my up and coming album. I
have opened for artists like Sergio in Atlanta and shared the stage with Vedo who is now on The Voice being coached by Usher. I have
also performed at fundraisers to support cancer in Toronto and in Atlanta. I have sung at weddings and had the most amazing opportunity singing at a wedding in Scotland last year. One of my most memorable performances was in London, England at one of
