Open Your Heart to a Senior is a volunteer initiative sponsored by the United Way of Allegheny County that matches volunteer caregivers with older adults in the area to provide nonmedical assistance, helping them remain safe and independent in their own homes. Donate food or volunteer to prepare or deliver food for a senior this winter! The caring staff and volunteers prepare and deliver healthy, homemade, well-balanced meals to clients five days a week. Each day’ s meals consist of something for breakfast, a cold meal and a hot entrée. Thanks to a“ spokescow,” Molly, and her fundraising efforts, clients receive a quart of milk once a week at no additional cost.
