Former Pittsburgh Steeler Charlie Batch continues to lead the effort to collect new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during the holiday season each year and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Each year it collects new toys, Christmas decorations, wrapping paper and gifts for adults, and presents a “Christmas Store” to clients. Each client is able to “shop” free of charge for gifts for their children and family members. The toy store has been a big hit over the past years. In addition, the pantry has been able to provide each client with a gift card for Christmas shopping each year through the generosity of our community. A fun and festive family giving project! The Salvation Army provides thousands of children and individuals with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, winter coats, clothing, toys and gifts.
