All Cancer Awareness
Tribute a Great Success
Each year, South Fayette honors those in the community
and District and opposing team families touched by cancer
during the Pink Out football game in October, organized by
Vickie Kaine, a South Fayette parent and herself a breast cancer
survivor. In addition, throughout the District, students, teachers,
counselors, school psychologists, administrative assistants, food
service, bus drivers, custodial, maintenance, and administration
showed their support by wearing pink out shirts and accessories
during the entire month.
Dr. Lockette saw a need to expand the annual theme from a
Pink Out to an All Cancer Awareness month. Early in August, he
met with Kaine to define the updates to the annual celebration.
