The success of the new vision of inclusion
was evident throughout the District during
the month, especially the week of October
8 and during the South Fayette/Highlands
football game. Most notable was the new
t-shirt design that included all colors of the
ribbons representing specific cancers and
was seen throughout the campus.
Another indication of the inclusiveness
of the new theme was Kaine’s idea of
providing ribbons in all cancer colors and
an opportunity for all attendees of the
game to fill out a form with the name(s) of
those they would like to honor during the
pre-game tribute. Students from Kara Pappas’
class and the Middle School Lion Hearts group,
led by Dr. Conchetta Bell, enthusiastically
volunteered to assemble the hundreds of
ribbons needed for the game.
Once again, the District and community
came together as a new tradition of All Cancer
Awareness began with great success.
