Neighbors, In partnership with Senator Lindsay Williams, I am happy to invite you all to our annual Shred Event on Saturday, September 12th! Taking place at the Goodwill of Southwestern PA, located at 160 52nd St in Lawrenceville, community members will have the chance to get rid of excess paper in a sustainable, efficient way. The event will run from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m.
This year, Pittsburgh Regional Transit will be rolling out their new ReadyFare system. Senior ConnectCard riders will have extended access to their expired card until early 2027 but are encouraged to apply for the new ReadyFare card before then. Keep an eye out for written communication from PRT and call our office with any questions.

SHALER AREA ROTARY CLUB
The Shaler Rotary club has been busy preparing for our biggest fundraiser of the year. To continue our community service projects, our Club hosts an annual charity golf outing at Wildwood Golf Club. This year’ s event is on Monday, September 14th, 2026 with a noon tee off. There will gift basket raffles, 50 / 50 raffles, and an auction to win a round of golf for a threesome at Oakmont Country Club. There are open spots for golfers available and additional sponsors are always appreciated. Excitement is building as the Glenshaw Century Club prepares for its annual Holiday House Tour & Craft Fair, scheduled for Saturday, November 14. Start your holiday shopping at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located at 1719 Mount Royal Blvd, before touring several beautiful Glenshaw homes decorated for the season. All proceeds from this event will go toward higher education grants for high school seniors residing in the Shaler Area School District and support local civic organizations dedicated to serving our community.
This fall, the Glenshaw Century Club, will be selling Lottery Tickets for January 2027 for $ 10.00 each, to raise money for their Shaler Area scholarship grants and community organization contributions. Tickets will be available at the Shaler Area Homecoming, Shaler Middle School Craft Fair, GCC Holiday Craft Fair, and through any Club member. The Glenshaw Century Club is grateful for your support of this fundraiser!
SOLICITING IN THE TOWNSHIP
• All potential solicitors must submit a copy of their FBI Criminal Background Check, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and driver’ s license to Shaler Township prior to a permit being granted.
• Once a permit is approved, each solicitor receives a card that should always be visible to residents.
• All solicitors receive a copy of the“ No Solicit” List for Shaler Township. This includes all addresses that have signed up via the Township website to be included on this list.
• Residents also have the option of purchasing a No Solicit Sticker, shown here, at the Township Office for $ 5 to display in their front door or window.
• Soliciting is permitted Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and prohibited on holidays.
The Township Office often receives calls reporting solicitors in their neighborhood that do not have a permit. If a resident sees an individual who does not have a permit or is violating the above guidelines, please call 911 to report it immediately.
