the treatment plant, that are now 40 to 55 years old. This phase

The Authority obtained an $11 million state-subsidized,
low-interest Pennvest loan. The Authority also obtained two Local
Share Account (LSA) grants totaling $585,000 and will be applying
for additional grants for the interceptor replacement phase.
To help further minimize costs, Peters Township guaranteed the
Authority’s sewer revenue bonds enabling the Authority to
obtain substantially lower interest rates on the bonds and saving
our customers more than $650,000 in interest charges.

Construction has begun on the Peters Township Sanitary
Authority’s Donaldson’s Crossroads Water Pollution Control Plant
Replacement Project, located at the intersection of W. McMurray
Road and Oakwood Road. The project, at a construction cost of
$17 million, will completely replace the existing treatment plant
on the adjacent property originally constructed in 1962. The
treatment plant, which is one of two owned and operated by the
Authority, serves the southwestern portion of Peters Township
including most of the Route 19 commercial corridor and currently
provides service to approximately 2,600 equivalent households.
