n Sunday, April 19, 2020, the Norwin
Student Council will host the 34th-
annual "Senior Citizens Dinner.” This
dinner, hosted in the Norwin Senior
High School, runs from 1-4pm. This dinner is
a staple to the Norwin Community, annually
hosting over 400 members of the Irwin/North
Huntingdon area for free.
In addition to the delightful meal, seniors are
treated to performances from Norwin's Show
Choir and Select Orchestra and are welcome to
participate in our famous Door Prize Raffle.
This year’s event commemorates the legacy of
Frances Ekl, who was instrumental in starting the
Senior Citizens Dinner more than 30 years ago
as a member of the Norwin Board of Education.
She recently passed away on February 2, 2020.
To honor her legacy, Norwin Student Council will
be recognizing her efforts in creating this event.
Residents of the Norwin community aged 55
and older are asked to send a self-addressed
stamped envelope with their name & mailing
address to:

Norwin residents can request up to 2 tickets.
Please specify how many tickets are needed. No
requests will be taken by telephone. There will be up
to 600 tickets made available on a first-come, first-
served basis. Requests will be honored through mid-
April or until 600 tickets are distributed. All senior
citizens attending the dinner MUST LIVE in Irwin
Borough, North Irwin Borough, or North Huntingdon
Township to be eligible for tickets. Tickets will be
mailed prior to the dinner and should be presented
upon entry into the event. No individual will be
admitted without a ticket.

like to make a donation to offset the costs of this
