Norwin Show Choir Raises $5,000 for HEARTH Shelter
W
ith their energetic vocal performances, the students
of the Norwin Show Choir raised more than $5,000 in
December for a local charity.
Since 1998, the Norwin Show Choir has collaborated
with the Expressions in Harmony Foundation to collect
money for the abused women and their children at the
HEARTH Shelter outside of Pittsburgh (www.hearth-
bp.org). The Show Choir students worked tirelessly by
spreading holiday cheer nearly every day in December
while asking for donations for their cause.
Thank you to these amazing kids for all their hard work
and being awesome ambassadors for Norwin.
Norwin Middle School
Students Perform
Disney’s Frozen Jr.
Hundreds of community members experienced
the Norwin Middle School Theatre Company’s recent
performance of Frozen JR., a musical that ran from
February 20 through 22, 2020, at Norwin Middle School.
The Middle School Theatre Company’s seventh and
eighth graders had worked hard since November on
this, their fourth-annual show.
Frozen JR. is a story of true love and acceptance
between sisters, Princesses Anna (Natalie Amantea)
and Queen Elsa (Julianne Kellar). When faced with
danger, the two discover their hidden potential and
the powerful bond of sisterhood. Joined by a cast of
beloved characters including Olaf (Sarah McHugh),
Kristoff (Andrew Brown) and his side-kick Sven (Casey
Rose Colcombe). Loaded with magic, adventure, and
plenty of humor, Frozen JR. thawed even the coldest
heart!
Tobitha Sasso served as Director, and Ryan DeMatteo
served as Assistant Director.
