NORWIN
F
orwin High School Theatre Company
is proud to present Disney’s The Little
Mermaid! With a cast of 113 students and
a crew of 40, we are thrilled to have over 150
students collaborating to make this production
one for the record books!
In Disney’s beguiling musical theatre
masterpiece, rebellious 16-year-old mermaid Ariel
(Lauren Leoni & Kelsy Levendosky) is fascinated
with life on land. On one of her visits to the
surface, which are forbidden by her controlling
father, King Triton (Ethan Whittaker), she falls for
a human prince (Gordon Landefeld). Determined
to be with her new love, Ariel makes a dangerous
deal with the sea witch Ursula (Jaelyn Taylor) to
become human for three days. But when plans
go awry for the star-crossed lovers, the king must
make the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter!

or the second time, Norwin hosted a two-
day Winter Percussion Camp that brought
together percussion students from the
Middle School and High School for master
clinics and special performances.
The percussion students worked with three
extremely talented and nationally recognized
performers and educators: Dr. Erik Forst, the
professor of percussion at Messiah College;
Vince Wallace, a Pittsburgh-area music
educator and the founder, owner, and director
of the Pittsburgh Steeline, the official drumline
of the Pittsburgh Steelers; and Dakota Kaylor,
a freelance educator and performer in the
Washington, D.C. area. They presented clinics
on percussion technique and coached the
students on pieces of percussion ensemble
music. The camp concluded with a short
performance for family and friends.
