The Millcreek Township General Authority has been making progress in the Gateway District . Here ’ s what has been happening , and what is soon to come :
Demolition Project Phases 2 and 3 have been awarded and are scheduled to be completed by May 31st The contractor for Phase 2 is Empire Excavation and Demolition of Waterford , PA The contractor for Phase 3 is Siegel Excavating of Edinburg , PA A Request for Qualifications will be released this spring to seek qualified developers for the project illcreek

GRANT FUNDING UPDATES
$ 3.5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program ( RACP ) grant for West 8th Street streetscape and property development work $ 5 million PennDOT Turnback funds to improve West 8th Steet from Pittsburgh Ave . to Peninsula Drive $ 1 million Erie County Land Bank grant to fund demolitions on Authority properties The Authority will be seeking additional redevelopment grants in 2025
COMMON LEVEL RATIO CLARIFICATION :
The Winter Issue of InMillcreek included information about the assessed value of the properties purchased by the Authority . There was an error in the Common Level Ratio used in the calculation . The corrected assessed value of the properties was $ 9,147,305 , which is $ 1,974,805 more than the purchase price .
