Developing A Vision for the Future of Community Engagement and Recreation
2022
Millcreek Township completes Official Map process , identifying key properties within the Township that could be beneficial for future use . Shrine Club property identified as a location of interest for acquisition and conservation due to its size , central location , and adjacency to a Township park .
2024 , FEBRUARY
Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan is finalized and adopted by Millcreek Township . Three key focus areas for the department were found : promoting connectivity and walkability to recreational assets , boost marketing , promotion , and community engagement , and target investments into centralized high demand recreational assets and amenities . This final key focus area had a directive to assess the feasibility of developing a centralized community center which incorporates high demand recreational assets such as fitness and wellness programs , hiking and walking trails , and a pool .
2024 , DECEMBER
Township signs Letter of Intent to purchase Shrine Club property .
