Dear McKeesport Area School District Parents / Guardians and Community Members,
As the 2025 – 2026 school year comes to a close, I have had the privilege of observing outstanding educators and strong leadership throughout the McKeesport Area School District. Our teachers, administrators, and staff remain committed to improving educational opportunities and preparing students for success in school, the workforce, and post-secondary education.
Throughout this school year, MASD focused on strengthening academic achievement, social development, and leadership skills among students. We believe that preparing students for the future requires more than academic instruction alone. Students must also develop communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills that will help them succeed in the 21st Century workforce and society.
To support these goals, MASD has continued emphasizing high expectations for teachers and school leaders while aligning curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment methods with current educational standards and workforce demands. Our teachers, principals, and administrators have worked collaboratively to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities necessary for future success, including college, vocational, and trade pathways.
Additionally, MASD has continued reviewing policies and practices to better support student achievement and overall school effectiveness. We recognize the important role teachers and principals play in student outcomes and remain committed to identifying instructional strategies and academic supports that improve student performance and growth.
During the 2025 – 2026 school year, we also focused on building a more cohesive educational environment by strengthening collaboration among staff and ensuring instructional practices are directly aligned with student needs. Our goal is for this positive and supportive culture to extend throughout our schools and into the community.

Community engagement remains an important priority for McKeesport Area School District. While we have worked to increase communication and outreach through meetings and other engagement opportunities, we recognize there is still work to do in strengthening connections between our schools and community members. We remain committed to improving these relationships and encouraging greater involvement in support of our students.
As previously mentioned, I look forward to continuing to strengthen relationships that positively impact the students of the McKeesport Area School District. By working together, administrators, educators, parents, guardians, community members, and the School Board can continue creating learning environments that inspire student success both academically and socially.
