Community cleanups focus on caring for McKeesport
With Earth Day and Day of Caring activities, the City of McKeesport provided residents with opportunities to dispose of unwanted materials around their homes and throughout the city.
To celebrate Earth Day, McKeesport revived its community cleanup contest with groups heading out to clear trash and debris from their neighborhoods. On June 13, Allegheny Cleanways and Earthwise / Big’ s Sanitation collected household materials with a joint event in Renzie Park. Volunteers also adopted areas of Walnut Street and portions of the Great Allegheny Passage and McKeesport Loop trails for cleanups on that day.
