An advocate for patient empowerment .
Christina Morgan , DO , an AHN family medicine physician , believes your relationship with your primary care physician ( PCP ) is one of the most important ones you can have . “ People need someone they can call with acute things or changes in chronic problems , who can address the problem at hand ,” she said .
“ I ’ m here to be a strong advocate for my patients but also urge them to be advocates for themselves .” It ’ s something she takes very seriously .
“ I try to empower my patients ,” she said . I tell them , ‘ You ’ re the boss . I ’ m just here to educate you , make sure you know your options , and get you where you need to be .’”

A focus on skin care .
Skin care may not be top of mind , but it should be . “ It doesn ’ t matter where you ’ re from or where you live ,” says Dr . Morgan .
“ Cumulative lifetime sun exposure adds up over time and can cause moles to be abnormal . And , other premalignant conditions can pop up . It ’ s important to have someone look at places or crevices that get missed .”
Dermatological services Dr . Morgan provides include :
• Routine skin and mole checks
• Skin cancer surveillance
• Biopsies and excisions
• Cryotherapy
• Treatment of rashes , hives , hair loss , and acne
Even if you don ’ t have obvious symptoms , you should schedule a yearly screening for skin cancer .
Early detection is critical and potentially life-saving .
In addition to dermatology , Dr . Morgan has expertise in osteopathic manipulative therapy ( OMT ), and women ’ s health . She is currently accepting new patients at AHN Murrysville-Primary Care .
