Crafton 4th Grade Interactive Presentation

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Crafton Elementary’ s 4th Grade Classrooms participated in an interactive presentation with representatives from Columbia Gas of PA.
The Columbia Gas Energy Safe Kids program is an educational initiative by the National Energy Foundation( NEF) and Columbia Gas that teaches students about natural gas safety, energy literacy, and efficiency. It provides free, engaging in-person presentations, interactive online games, and take-home materials for children to learn about recognizing and reacting to energy hazards.
Key features of the program include:
• Safety Focus: Educates students on how to identify the“ rotten egg” smell of mercaptan, recognizing signs of a natural gas leak, and the importance of calling 811 before digging.
• Curriculum-Based: Offers lesson plans and materials designed by educators for classroom use, often targeting 4th-grade levels.
